HID Headlight motor.

Post by Rapidair65 » Sun Aug 16, 2015 1:07 pm

I'm in the process of rustproofing our new Bongo. It's a 2004 model with adjustable HID headlights. The nearside adjuster appears to be intact but the offside has most of what appears to be a manual adjuster missing. Are the adjuster motors available separately? Sorry no pictures as I still haven't mas tered posting images yet!

Hi
Have you tried Bongospares to see if they are a separate entity?
Cheers

In the beginning there was nothing , then God said "Let there be Light".....There was still nothing , but ,by crikey, you could see it better.

Have you tried using the control on the dashboard to see if the motor is operational? The HID headlamps are pretty hard to come by and I would doubt you'd be able to just buy the motor on its own.

On further inspection it looks like the complete manual adjuster has disappeared. There is a blue plastic nut with teeth on its base which engages with similar teeth on the back of the motor. This blue nut is missing off the drivers side unit. The van passed the MOT so I assume the headlamp aim is Ok. I think leave well alone is the answer! Thank you to all for the replies.
