I would like to put my 12v compressor fridge in a cupboard/ box.
how much ventilation is required to allow it to function correctly. 1" or 2" gridded hole? low or high?

Re: venting a 12v compressor fridge
Not a lot, our compressor is mounted over the rear air con. unit behind the fridge itself and only has a very small vent panel in the conversion woodwork, but there is also the ventilation behind the plastic trim that has been removed to allow its fitting.

Re: venting a 12v compressor fridge
Thanks Geoff
my side panels will be in place and insulated with a wool synthetic mix.
any real venting will be into the van area.

Re: venting a 12v compressor fridge
I have a Vitrifrigo C42L, with a remote compressor (Danfoss BD35).
I have mounted it inside the main cupboard om my conversion, transverse with the tail end over the wheelarch :

Once the main face of the conversion is in place, the fan draws air from inside the cupboard, and vents it out into the van through a timber vent:

The seat pretty much gets in the way of this vent, but the fridge seems to do OK. If I was doing it again, I'd probably try yo avoid this clash with the seat though!
