The garage says my turbo waste gate valve is not receiving a signal from the ECU. The garage wants to know if there is a vacuum pressure sensor for this valve, and if so, where is it on a new-shape 2003 Bongo?

HI, you need to get your mechanic to make sure that the vehicle actually has a waste gate valve, it is very possible that this year of vehicle has the Variable Vane or the VGT system controlled by a vacuum actuator.
Good Luck.

Many thanks, folks. How do we tell whether my turbo diesel bongo has this variable vane (VGT) or just a waste gate valve?

Variable vane turbos were fitted from round about 1999/2000 onwards. Looking at the schematic diagram, you don't seem to have a wastegate. I believe the excess boost is disapated by the VV moving to reduce the amount of air compressed.

Normally the actuator will be positioned to operate Vertical on the VV/VGT and with a waste gate valve fitted it usually is in a horizontal position.
Never take things as granted ....always check.
