Ok so the mirror method is really really crap! The crank was about 10 degrees out.set crank to 0 degrees(correct??) Then removed belt and spun can so marks line up. Belt back on, turned over and re checked.all in time. Carb cleaner direct into manifold and nothing. Cracked off injectors one at a time and a the engine turns a low pressure spurt comes out. Should this come out at a horrendous pace or give just spurting out on crank over. Waiting for my friend to come over who borrowed myhd jump leads to connect to my truck for some good cranking action.

If still no joy worth looking at the valves? I have a petrol compression test but nota diesel. Cranking over by hand it certainly doesn't feel low pressure!

If it's not even thinking about firing when you spray carb cleaner directly into the inlet manifold thats not good, would suggest no compression ?

Ok jump leads on and spray she is firing.going to refit the elbow on inlet and try spraying easy start into the intake pipe and mess about with the pump to try and get it running healthyish.just need to see if the knocking had gone or not.

Make sure it's Easy Start rather than carb cleaner otherwise you'll have very clean innards but it won't be running ;)
