Hopefully the garage flushed out the system and ensured there is now a good flow of coolant through the radiator.....as a matter of interest did you stop immediately when the coolant alarm went off ??

No should have having read post on here but was on A27 about 100 yds from a Tesco
Yes coolant flushed and back next week to check if it needs abnotehr flush

To everyone......you must stop ASAP if your coolant alarm goes off...you can lose most of your coolant in a few seconds and overheat in no time at all. I know that safety must come first but if you can stop do so at once...

I'd consider a new radiator if there's the slightest doubt about the (blocked) condition of the old one. I watched Wheeler Dealers the other night, restoring a Triumph Stag. They said the Stag had a bad reputation for overheating, but this was all down to failure to regularly change corrosion inhibiting antifreeze. As a result, corrosion blocked the radiator. A new radiator, not backflushing, was the cure. And they fitted one with an improved cooling matrix.
