Passenger Window Stopped Working

Post by Mark Elvin » Tue Oct 21, 2014 7:57 am

OK, the passenger window has been refusing to go work recently from either drivers or passenger switch, so I replaced the loom in the passenger door, but it still doesn't work.

It powers up & down if I connect 12v direct to it, there is no power getting to the window switch on the passenger side.

Any pointers as to other likely areas to check.

check drivers loom as toggle under switches effects it from there

I presume you've checked the rocker switch on the driver side door switch panel hasn't been accidentally turned on? This is an override that prevents the passenger side window opening.

Nice one dom_e ! That had me stumped and explains why it was intermittently working.

Some who have had there Bongo for some time miss some of it's little querks ..

One who did not know they had folding mirrors .. other who do not know they can turn the digital rear heating fan on from the front .. others who do not realise if you push the wiper lever forward .. you have a one swipe windscreen wipe .. others who mask the sun sensor for the A/C on the top right hand dash board .. do not realise that there is a little fan in the cabins A/C sensor that can get gobbed up with dust (or dog hairs) .. that the jack handle is clipped to the roof of the storage compartment ..

I'd start where the loom goes into the driver's door.
Take a torch, toilet roll, and tea bags.

If it works from the passenger side, then suspect the drivers switch is faulty.
