Dashboard illumination , cant read petrol gauge at night!

Post by agentdagnamit » Wed Oct 22, 2014 9:40 am

I think I must have lost the right hand light in the dash, I can no longer see the petrol gauge when driving at night.

Presumably it is easy to removing the dashboard surround and replace the bulb?

Thanks

Yes .. Drop down the steering wheel .. remove the self tapping screws around the bezel ..

.. pull the glass bulb(s) out of the plastic holder .. replace ..

Note .. the large holders are for the dash lights .. the smaller for warning lights .. there are two different coulered small bub holders denoting two different bulb wattage (brightens) ..

Suggest you add the bulb types and numbers as well in the factsheet Ian!

Thanks Ian, that's amazing (and even looks like I could managed it!).

Yes, the bulb types would help too, sorry about that. I googled quickly but couldnt find what I needed. guess it'll be printed on the blown bulb though.

The most common name for the bigger panel bulb is a wedge / 501 / side light / panel bulb ..

Any car shop will sell them ..
