Wheel widths

Post by CKC100 » Thu Oct 16, 2014 10:41 pm

Hi folks,
Am looking for a bit of advice on what width of rims will fill the arches but not scuff them.

I have like the standard 15" alloys on it, but the tyre walls are cracking so looking at a full set of wheels and tyres say in the £500 to £600 region.

Any advice would be great would 8j be to big maybe?

Cheers Charlie

I don't know your answer, but consider the wheel offset as well (ET). A smaller (or more negative) offset will make the wheel stick out more and will be more likely to scuff the arch.

There is a topic/article on here somewhere about larger diameter wheels/tyres, that might have the answer (I've not read it, so can't comment).

I believe the standard wheel size is 6x15 ET40, bore size: 67.1

Apparently, wheels from these cars fit too ...

Why not get RX8 wheels and do the 235 45 18 tyres.
four decent tyres and a set of RX8 18" would be cheaper.
