Central locking

Does anyone know whether there is a relay or fuse controlling the central locking? The driver's door works perfectly, but the sliding and passenger doors don't work all of a sudden. One minute they were ok, then they stopped for no apparent reason. If there is a fuse or relay, does anyone know where it/they are located? ItOs amazing how much you miss stuff like that when suddenly it stops working.

There's been a lot of talk on here lately of the loom degrading and snapping where it bends coming out of the drivers door. It isn't something like that is it?

Agree its most likely where the loom passes from the pillar into the door, simple fix.

I think there is a fuse, can't remember which one though. Mine stopped working when i blew the fuse to the leisure battery as someone has wired them up to that. If you have a leisure battery it might be worth checking the wiring from that.

Central locking is fuse 4 (30A) internal fusebox

Thanks guys. It's not the first time it's happened. The loom at that point has always felt tight and under stress, though the central locking and leccy window wires seem worst affected. I re-made those off with bullet connectors and ended up losing both. Doh! Will try the fuse as suggested, but don't understand why driver's door works but the others don't. Will have more of a poke about.

Is the driver's door just operating from the key, or does the solenoid 'Clunk' but other locks not operate?

Edit: Bear in mind the N/S and side/rear doors do not operate the central locking.

Thanks again guys, esp for the directions to the fuse. I took it out and was intact. Cleaned and replaced it with a bit of a jiggle and, hey presto, central locking. I should have said originally that my c/l was retro-fitted so that all doors and the tailgate operate remotely.

You say your central locking was retro fitted - what make/model is it? I have a Cobra 4100 that was fitted before I bought my Bongo, and recently the remote central locking has stopped working (although it works when putting the key in the driver's door, and it arms/disarms the alarm).

I've been wondering about a "slow" relay on our central locking. Some days when I unlock, it takes a couple of seconds for the rest of the locks to pop up, other days it's instantaneous.

That'll be the actuator, rather than the relay...mine does it when it's cold!

It's all locks though, not just the one. Also it's 28c here at the moment, not not really cold.

It was 38 C. here t'other day...the locks worked pretty quick!... ...seriously, I think mine does tend to work better with a fully charged battery, and on a warm day...I may whip the door card off again and see if I can spruce it up a bit inside...it may just need the actuator rod bending / tweaking, as the button does rub a bit!
