Annoying bleep!!

Post by bongoroy63 » Sat Jun 07, 2014 8:54 pm

I know this has been discussed before but can't find it. As much as I love my van I have had enough of the beeping when I have the key in the ignition and the door open. I have had the panel to the right of my right leg off today in the hope of disconnecting the beeper. However, there are a number of connectors and wires in there! Can anyone tell me which one I have to disconnect please?
I can, I do, I did.

You just need to unclip this connector;

Under the cowl below the steering wheel, with care you don't need to remove the cowling.

OK thanks, but I was told by a couple of people it was behind the trim on the right hand side of the drivers footwell. Is it the same on all Bongos? Mines a 97 model.

No the Sound Warning System module is down there, many people cut the wires, for the Key-in-lock signal all you need do is separate the connector shown and the door beep will stop, Headlights, AFT and reversing beeps won't be affected.

Its much nicer than cutting the wires or sticking a screwdriver thru the buzzer that others have done, and if you want, it can always be put back to standard!
