What is this and why is it dripping?

Post by Banjoblue » Mon Mar 17, 2014 8:58 am

There's a drip from the tube at the top of the picture, it looks like a square plastic plug sealing the end of a pipe. Anybody know what it is?

Do you have a conversion fitted?
If so might of had rear heater / air on removed and that pipe is what used to feed one of them
Gas safe heating engineer / plumber if you need any advice just shout.

if you mean the pipe thats bent back on it self and secured via the plastic hook, thats the end of the bleed pipe.
sometimes the clip eats its way into the pipe wall, or can get damaged rubbing on something, it looks like its been routed in an odd manner. examine it carefully, if its to be removed to be fixed or shortened seek advice as you may have to bleed the coolant system if you are not careful.

Engine bay (nearside), part (3). That's the bleed hose - is that what you're looking at? ie not what your finger is pointing to...?

That'll be a V6 then. There should be a plastic clip on the rocker cover which keeps it up out the way. The end with the bung can neatly be cable tied to the wiring loom.

Yes, there's quite a bit going on there. Got even more pipework at the top end for the LPG:
