It depends on how far you want to go!...This is mine, but the ends are considerably re-shaped for the headlights, so yours would be easier

I can describe how to do it if you like

Hi
Elze...
Tricky ????...not at all....just time consuming , as I have to do a bit at a time. The lights ALMOST fit inside the Bongo lights at first "take", but I eventually succumbed to using a recipro saw on them ....    ....cutting the ends off the Bongo lights, and bonding them onto the new lights...    ...wiring was a bit of a hassle, but quite straightforward when taking your time.
Mike...
Frankly, I didn't worry whether I melted the plastic with solvents or resin....because there was a lot of re-shaping to do, but I usually test first, and it didn't make any problem using thinner or polyester resin on the grille...the actual stuff I use for cleaning over here is called Korselin...I don't know what the hell it is, but it hurts your skin, and is highly irritant and "niffy", and a lot more aggressive than plain thinners, and it didn't melt anything....but regarding the "glassing" on the back of the grille, I really only touched the foam, but where it did touch the grille there was no melting!
Thanks for the compliment regarding being competent, but in my opinion, so is everyone else, and it's only fear or what one has never attempted that puts folk off....just get out there and do it, and if you mess up, then you don't make the same mistake next time
Cheers
Helen
In the beginning there was nothing , then God said "Let there be Light".....There was still nothing , but ,by crikey, you could see it better.
