Year 2000 Bongo Radio Hack

Post by Astroman » Tue Nov 26, 2013 4:44 pm

Is it possible to hack the radio so the channels are within the same band we use in the UK? Or do most people just swap out the radio? I could swap the radio I guess, but I kind of like it with its little display and picture of Tokyo Tower.

You can fit a band expander which will give you more frequency to play with.
Just do an ebay search theres loads.

And they become crap radios with all sorts of interference and cross modulation ! Swap it out.

88-108mhz which is what my current set gives and I can get all stations I need. I had a band expander on my first Bongo and it worked as good as any other radio. Some people can't afford to just swap it for an expensive one. Its a cheap alternative and does till you can afford a decent one.
