locking emergency
out in bongo today and when i stopped couldnt get keys out of ignition.
so drove home and stopped and say position - key turns freely from 1 to 3 but not from 1 to 0. dsteering turns ok etc
i assume the barrel is at fault - squirted a bit of wd40 in and play a bit - keem not to force and key eventually came.
locked the door and didnt hear normal clunk - ie drivers locks but nothing else. i can lock all doors manually except - how do you lock the back door and any thoughts of my problems - is the central locking connected to the key
afraid i cant get the bongo into garage but i can reverse against garage if necessary

the ignition barrel and central door locking are not connected in any way, sounds like 2 seperate problems, the ignition release is a cable connected to the gear lever which may have stretched or broken ,the central locking could be a fuse or the solonoid in the door or the most favorite of all,the wires between the a post and the door have fractured to stop the central locking working!!!
ok quick update:-
i am assuming firstly that the fuses are the drivers side ones and will not be under bonnet one's? remove each one and all ok - not sure about the two funny shaped 30 amp ones at bottom - one at each corner - they look ok but not sure what i was looking for on them. so still no central locking - the electric widow etc work from door though.
so next step ? -
as for the key part - remove the grey plastic bit and the smaller part of the guard from side. not sure how to remove the guard on the gear selector - can see the screw at back and then it just looks like two clips on either side - but not sure if i need this off. when i pop key in and turn to on - press brake i can select all the settings and i see parts moving inside. the key was ok to come in and out -
is this a fluke or should i suspect it is more a problem with the barrell ?
any thoughts appreciated
i attach this for reference of gearnob part

Hi Karen
I suspect that your stuck key was something to do with the steering lock. I have had this on several vehicles and it has always come out when I moved the steering wheel.
I've only just got my Bongo so can't help with the central locking, but the tailgate has it's own keyhole.
Good luck.

ok
tested all the fuses at the drivers door - visually and with a meter so all ok. not sure which fuse is which so i assume that the central locking is in here and not under bonnet
not sure if the wd40 did the trick but moved her a few times and got key no probs
hey - there is a key hole on back door so locked ok
keys - i'm going post a sepertae thread
