no bleed hose

Post by bongobaz » Wed Jul 31, 2013 4:06 pm

My mate recently had a new head on a 95 diesel bongo.
I had a quick nosey and found that there is no bleed hose.
Any idea what has been done and how you bleed it?
Could it be Ford ranger head or newer type?

the ranger head is the same head as a bongo baz, its just that the fitter has fitted a 2 hose outlet instead of the 3 outlet that takes the bongo bleed hose.

the fitter in question usually fits this outlet baz.

there is a way of modifying the small dia turbo coolant supply hose to fit a bleed pipe into the system if you need to.

Is it likely the Bongo wasn't bled after the new head fitted?

I fitted a Ranger head to my Bongo...
I just tee'd off the small 8mm id hose with a brass airline fitting.

Use the same 8mm I.D for bleed hose.

Nice aluminium plug from ebay.

Works a treat.
