v6 radiator fan switch

Post by cheffy34 » Sat Mar 30, 2013 5:53 pm

Guys i gotta an issue my fans are not cutting in

What controlls them is it the engine temp sender??

This may explain why my radiator blew a pinprick hole and shot a 6ft water jet out of my grill catching a passerby that promptly looked up at a clear sky to see where the rain was coming from :roll:

Thanks Dar

The fans are triggered by the ETC sensor,if you remove the connector the fans should kick in.The fuse is No2 30amp under the hood.

Easiest way is turn on the Air Con that will tell the ECU to turn the Fans on for a quick check. The fuse is;

As Geoff has said,turn on the AC to check the fans,just remember that this will tell you that the fan is working not that the fan is not (faulty) working.

Fans come on if you disconnect the sender unit so i suppose that denotes the sender is goosed?
