Cool box 12v & 240V
Having inherited a TC9-295 Weaco cool box with my Bongo I have found that the chill/cool works on 240 but it does not work on 12v. Has anyone been lucky enough to find a fix?

Have you checked for any fuses ?

Are you sure your 12V socket is delivering enough voltage? I threw out an outwell coolbox with the same fault (I thought) but the wiring to the rear socket was at fault. It would light uo an LED etc but it wouldn't run a tyre pump or a 100W Inverter. I rewired mine with heavier cable direct to the LB (via a fuse)hijimhere wrote:Having inherited a TC9-295 Weaco cool box with my Bongo I have found that the chill/cool works on 240 but it does not work on 12v. will check that out with meter and the fuse - the double cigar lighter has a light to indicate it's powered so perhaps not a fuse --thanks

No not the vehicle fuse, but the fuse in the 12v plug for the fridge itself, lots of the plugs house a fuse accessed by unscrewing the tip.

Re: Cool box 12v & 240V
Check the voltage when the coolbox is plugged in and switched on. mine would light LEDs in various pieces of equipment but if you plugged something hungry in the vlotage would drop significantly. It is a long run of cable and not very substantially sized..hijimhere wrote:will check that out with meter and the fuse - the double cigar lighter has a light to indicate it's powered so perhaps not a fuse --thanks

Waeco CF18 compressor fridge wont run reliably from rear socket due to current limitations on the vehicle wiring, Try it on the front socket where there is a bit more oomph
