leaking fluid

Hi guys, just bought a anew fuel filter off ebay for my 2.5 td freeda and had a look under drivers door to see where she fits an bingo there it is.

Anyway justnoticed that the hydraulic lever that goes into the 'gearbox'??? that is on the o/s ofthe engine appearsto be leeking, should I be worried, is it an easy fix.

The only lever I can think that's fitted on an auto box is the cable operated one that comes from the gear selector.

Hi its a. Manual Ford Freeda and is located about half way up what I think is the gear box which is connected to a flexible hose that runs the o/s to a connection, ill have another look tonight when I get home from work.

Sounds like it might be the slave cylinder that you are looking at.?

Press the clutch pedal and see if it moves.

Yes it's the slave cylinder, should I be worried, it's not flowing out just the odd drips by the look at the drive.

What should I do?

Keep it topped up but get it sorted you can get a repair kit .you will eventually loose clutch pressure and won't get gears

Cheers fella, where would I get a repair kit from, an how much are they.

I've just looked on ebay, roughly £50, are they the same for auto/manual.

Autos don't have one.any reputable factor but try bongo fury shop first,fifty quid seems a bit steep!

Motor factors will sell slave cylinder repair kits .you get seals,spring? If fitted and dust cover.(new poss twenty quid)but that's a guess
