Sorry I am still confused, could you show the breather in question on a lushprojects diagram.Northern Bongolow wrote:it clips to the chassis inside face but it is very near to this g/box breather, the box breather is just an open ended one, but the fuel tank breather has a vent valve in it to vent the vapours into the chassis rail itself, teenmal wrote:Hi,I always thought that pipe was the Gear Box Breather not the fuel tank breather.Northern Bongolow wrote:what year is it please.??.
try this. find the filter housing under the drivers seat, approx 8 inches to the rear is a pipe which terminates in a mushroom filter valve, its clipped end on to the inside of the chassis rail, its the tank breather, pull it towards the gearbox it clips off, make sure the valve/breather is clear. failing that its as matt says the pump/pipes/filters/housing or the seals on the pump. there are a few poor quality fuel filter around !!.
edit after you replied above.
check the little pipe from the inlet manifold to the pumptop.. just pull it it clips to the chassis.

Yes I am. I was in Libya for a few months way back in March to Aug since then I have been working in Orkney for last ten weeks or so. Internet is crap in Libya and Orkney so no forums..
Next Saturday I am off to Iceland for ten weeks but wil be back for Xmas I hope?
The Bongo has been great for travelling around Scotland, most reliable and not to bad on the old jungle juice. After a long drive to Wick from Newcastle I just rested in the back with a sleeping bag whilst I was waiting for the ferry. I am sooo pleased I got this vehicle. Ran her all day to day with no problems so it seems that the new fuel filter worked.
Last month I ran her with 50/50 SVO/Diesel on 3 trips up and down so maybe that it what clogged the filter. Good old Tesco, £2.50 for 3 ltr........could'nt resist as I get paid 45p a mile from company.
Thanks again guys your info which was top notch as usual and appreciated
Oh, by the way...A bloke up the street to me has just aquired with a shiney Bongo on an 02 plate and I am so jealous. this is the newest one I have seen.

That'll be it then. You will find that fuel filters will need replacing more frequently when running on veg oil, especially if it was a bit clogged before you started.ELZE wrote:Last month I ran her with 50/50 SVO/Diesel on 3 trips up and down so maybe that it what clogged the filter.
