go on, give us a clue --------------rtfm !!!!.
did you pressure test the system.

i would replace the stat with a gen mazda, and split off as many pipes as you can to check flows, especially the front heater matrix and the rear matrix, during bleeding and flushing the system you may have disturbed the crud and sediment around the system, this usually settles/collects in the lowest points of the system or lodges in the smallest diameter apertures,(front and rear heaters). then doing a vac fill the crud restricts water entry into the system, as the water is sucked in via another route, this may encourage airlocks.

the vac fill method only works on clean unblocked systems and will not take into account faults/blockages, as it will always take the path of least resistance.

"Read The Factsheet, Matthew", "Read The F* Manual", or similar. :S

We didn't pressure test, did 5 minute vac test, but that's not the same I know. We didn't split off more than one hose and the thermostat housing. I didn't replace the 'stat. She's running slightly hotter. But we got 11 litres in and the front heater got *toasty*. We had the front left wheel up a ramp to bleed it.

I hope I don't regret saying this, but I didn't have time or money to do much more at the moment... :S

Will be coming to the bash, yes. Hopefully arrive early afternoon Thursday, provided we don't have to call the AA on the way down! ;)

Look forward to meeting you.

If Ady is going to mess about with your cooling system Matt then you had best take a hosepipe with you to the bash in case Ady's says that your radiator needs flushed out properly. He made a great job of sorting out my Bongo at Silverdale a year or so ago. Pressure tested the cooling system, flushed out the whole system, installed a guenuine Mazda stat then bled the cooling system. No problems since, well there never was any before. The time for my Bongo to have its coolant changed was due.

Tony

Just take a couple of Scots breakfasts with you to feed Ady while he does the work for you and he will be as happy as a larry.

Thanks, Ady. I'd be stupid to turn down any offer from you to look over my coolant system, but like you say, if it makes it from Fife... [-o< [-o<

The way I'm feeling this morning, a black pud roll would go down nicely. =P~
