Another dribbling pipe.......HELP.........

Post by Bongo?? » Wed Apr 11, 2012 10:15 pm

Hello all..
Whilst putting the Bongo back together i noticed a small damp patch on the concrete below the rear air-con system pipes.
On further inspection it appears that the smaller pipe has a tiny hole,so small you can barely see it,which was covered by a white plastic bracket,the bracket which fixes the 2 air-con pipes and water pipe from the rear heater matrix.
The faulty pipe has a connection on the passenger side and theres a connection where it oes into the floor to the rear AC system.
Does anyone know where i could get one,i`m currently searching the net.....
Or could it be repaired??
If you watch the pipe it tends to blow a little bubble and then pops and drips,i thought AC was gassed,so why does it drip??
THANKS AGAIN PEEPS.................... :roll:

You have a heater coupled to the cooling system, and an air con. feed to cool the air, so you have both sets of pipes kicking about there;
Rear Heater: http://lushprojects.com/bongopartsmk2/c ... mgno=.html
Rear Air Con.: http://lushprojects.com/bongopartsmk2/c ... mgno=.html

I'm guessing it drips due to condensation?

Is it the thin metal pipe? There is a bright green liquid / dye in the aircon which is part of the lubrication for the compressor. It will naturally tend to end up at the lowest part of the system by the rear unit. If you are lucky it's one of the o-rings is on its way out, but I expect it's the aluminium pipe that has become slightly porous. I've seen this before and it ran fine for several years with only one regass in that period. As long as the aircon is nice and cold, then I would personally leave well alone.
