Hold Light comes on

Whilst driving the HOLD light came on and flashed at a constant rate the vehicle stayed in third gear. Stopped filled it up with fuel (as I was running on fumes) and restarted it no problems, drove it home (approx 5 miles) still no problems. Just switched it on again and then started it expecting the the HOLD light to flash the fault code but it didn't. any ideas I assume it will come back. I have only had this one a month it is a yr 2000 V6 Freda. Feeling a bit concerned.

Flashing hold light indicates a transmission fault, you'll have to read the code for an accurate description.
