Can anyone give any advise here.i hava a 2.5 diesel 4 wheel drive,a new cylinder head was fitted last year and its been fine no problems but i have noticed in the past few weeks its sounding like its got noisey tappets,the levels are fine and it had a service last november.has anyone else come accross this.

After fitting a new head the valves/tappets etc will "bed in" and should be readjusted after a few hundred miles.

I was told by the mechanic that three of my tappets were a tad loose.Hi Stuc, not being much of a mechanic myself all I can tell you is that I had my tappets adjusted at a garage in Edinburgh in November 2010 after Ady told me that they sounded a bit noisey. The garage was recommended by Dandywarhol. Cost me £17.25 + vat from Bongobits for the gasket set and I was charged £60.00 all in by the garage for the job which took about an hour.
The torque settings and the tightening sequence are in the workshop manual. I can PM you them if you need them.
