Bongo has a whizzzzzzz ??? ...Throttle related..??

Post by rhino-wayne » Sun Jan 08, 2012 2:50 pm

Hi folks, learner mechanic here again.

OK, so yesterday my Bongo started making a light whizzing sound when under acceleration :?: :?:

Before I start tinkering about, any ideas :?: folks

Whiz only happens when accelerating with medium-heavy pressure on accelerator pedal....no whiz if being very gentle?? #-o

thanks in advance =D>

Check the number 1 stud on your exhaust manifold gasket, under the passenger seat. Not usually described as a qhiz, more of a squealing pig......

OK, so I discovered & solved the problem... :)

The EGR pipe connection at the front :!: A close inspection revealed that that it was only connected with one bolt #-o and that one and only bolt was loose/threaded and not holding the connection tight :!: :!:

Anyway, fitted a blanking plate (c/o Allans Vehicle Services), A new bolt & all is quiet again :)

...........................

Go to find a 2nd bolt or hope the one will hold :?
