AFT roof struggling to open fully

Post by monkey » Sun Sep 11, 2011 3:50 pm

Roof is struggling to open fully recently. Gets about 80-90% of the way up and then either fails to complete or jerks slowly almost into position doing lots of creaking and juddering. No problems on the way down. Any ideas?

Probably wants greasing in the runners - up inside the roof. Maybe you could spray them, but I got my hand up and spread dollops of grease along the runners. Awkward and messy but it did the trick - my roof lifted a lot smoother after that.

If you can, use silicon spray grease it wont hold the dirt like ordinary grease.
My roof does the same, it sometimes needs a helping hand pushing up from inside to make it fully open.
Lost without my Bongo.

Are you runnning the engine when raising the roof?
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

Hold up button and give it a wee push to help it.
We all need a helping hand sometime.
Level ground is a must for mine or it gets stuck, just like yours.
