FAULT CODE 12

Post by richieandkerry » Sun Oct 22, 2006 3:56 pm

This fault code has happened on my bongo twice spaced about a week apart. both times it has occurred it has been raining. could this have any bearing on why the hold light is flashing this fault. I've heard it's the Thottle position sensor. is it serious, is it expensive and what does it do. can anyone help :

Where do you get the fault codes? I occasionally get a hold light flashing and no speedo reading, which I have been told is a speed sensor fault, but I have no idea where the fault code is shown.

Switching the ignition off then re-starting usually cures it, but I'm sure one day it won't and I will have to investigate further. At the moment though, it only happens once in a blue moon, so I'll worry about it when I have to. :)

throttle position sensor not available at the moment, being told have to buy complete pump at £1400 but working on alternatives!!!moonshine ,if your speedo is converted using a chip?bin it and fit a speedo face as this sounds like a familiar fault that i have now rectified in this way on numerous occasions

Had my speedo chip replaced and intermittent fault has no recurred. Dealer said its happened before with his batch of chips. Only permanent fix possibly is to ditch the chip and replace the speedo face.
