(as printed ) my power supply is from the driving battery vie a 5 amp fussed switch.

Hi - I've also got a CUBE. The RAD is an alert triggered by the difference between temps 1 and 2. You can set the alert difference between 1c and 20c when setting up temp 1.
Ah...all is now clear....I did sort of work out that it was somthing to do with the differance between the temps but not what the 0-20 was..

Thinking about that....I have one sensor on the stat housing and one in the top hose....there is often 30C differance....I'm not going to be able to dial that out.......So you have to place the sensors so there will never be more than 20C differance between them...???have I got that??
I really should know all this seeing as I did sell them.....However they are no longer produced....just to expensive to make.....damm good bit of kit though

On mine, temp 1 is in the top engine hose (my coolant temp). Temp 2 is at the rear of the cylinder head. If I'm travelling at 65mph or so the temps can read approx 65c, 85c respectively. So you can trigger the RAD alarm when things are actually running fine. In my experience they won't stay this far apart for very long.
I flushed the coolant on my van not so long ago and found the two temps really useful in pointing out a (what I think was) an airlock after bleeding. The water temp was fine but the 'head' temp was much higher than normal (100+). I re-followed the bleed procedure and back flushed the RAD in case this was the issue and all's been fine since

Not silly at all Wayne..
I took a fused feed so the unit comes on with the ignition when i start the engine.. The same feed for my turbo gauge at the back of the cab fuse box.. Not the ACC first position key switch which powers my volt meter,(Radio, blinds.)...
Cant remember what wire colour now,

but gis a chance & i'll go out & have a look for you..?!!
Unless someone else knows & can save me the trouble!??

I made a fused spur for my after-market turbo & temperature gauge coming off the blue wire with the white stripe, bottom right of the fuse box... (Or top right if pulled out & upside down.) I preferred mine to come on with the engine.!

Just got an idea for what i can use to fit to where i plan to fit a second sensor probe..... (The unit i fitted takes two.)
Another fiddly place..!

Jaylee how long was your sensor wire? mine arrived today and despite an email from seller prior to purchase saying it was 3m long it turns out to be 1m only. Now i know the chinese are a small race but i would think a metre is the same there !
Cant see how its gonna fit so job on hold till sorted. took just over a week to arrive [ fair play its not next door ] so looks like another week till new one turns up [ assuming seller will send it !]

Im should be enough to reach, depending where you route the wire & mount the gauge.

About 3 meters...! 75cms or so, routed in the bay..?

soory Jaylee i didn't quite get that - was yours 3m or 75 cms ?

i assume you took most direct route from gauge to top hose ?

3 meters of continuous cable length... (connector to probe.) About 75, maybe 80cm's of which is routed in my engine bay!
Nope, i took the scenic route..!
Have to duck out for a few hours... If you like i can draw up a rough diagram of the cable route....!??

thanks Jaylee, thought that's what you meant. i think i've sorted the cable route out and Steve knows where he's gonna put the sensor , just got to wait for new cable cus this one is not long enough to get out of the engine bay !

Just in case there is a big rubber grommet here.. (Red arrow.) you can use below the glory/cubby hole for a more direct route, if need be??
... But it's a ruddy fiddle to get anything through! Good luck Nigel!!

Thanks Jaylee, might have to go direct route as mr chinaman at sureelectronics [ having admitted his error in sending wrong sensor ] now wants $4 to send the longer one !!
Alternatively he suggests i extend the cable myself. i dont mind extending if its just normal wire and wont impede performance but not sure it should be done - thoughts anyone?
