Air Con Problem

Post by TechnoTurkey » Sun Jul 10, 2011 11:18 am

My air con seems to have packed up, the light on the ac button comes on when you press it but I don't hear the fan come on and no cold air comes.

I've checked the fuse and it is fine, what should I be trying next?

Thanks in advance.

I would suggest the usual motor problem or resistor pack / speed controller.
The motor problem being water ingress that seizes it up eventually, from overflowing the window screen waste pipe that gets blocked.
The resistor pack (Manual control) / speed controller (Electronic controller) blowing from the same problem above when the current rises.
There is a fact sheet on the likely repairs http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/member ... sistor.pdf

You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

They do stop working (safety cut-out) when the gas gets too low, has it been filled recently?
Allans garage closed. Try PGS (Plymouth Garage Services) or Mayflower Auto Services Plymouth
