Gear lever locks
We are thinking of getting a gear lever lock. We were wondering if any one in Bongoland uses one and if so have they found them effective? Also if so what size should we be buying?
Thanks

Re: Gear lever locks
I'm sure we use an Autolock on ours - a bright yellow one, oour bongo is in the menders at the moment
so I can't check
Just googled this:

This isn't my photo and it's not a bongo.
Halfords will be able to advise - let you try one?

Re: Gear lever locks
Very heavy motorcycle type cable and padlock wound several times round gear and around brake pedal.
Can't move stick or depress brake.
I use a massive padlock for all to see.

OMG that has to be the most worthless peice of anti theft i have ever seen, how long would it take to unscrew that gear knob and get that peice of tat off, even with an auto "T" Handle those rivets look like they'd melt like butter if you went near them with even a half decent cordless drill,
I say the above as when i was roadsiding for the AA this is exactly how we used to remove these when owners had lost the keys usually 10 seconds to remove.
If money's tight then For about £90 you can get a cat2 immobilizer supplied n fitted
