Is there meant to be a filter in there?
The saying “Getting there is half the fun” was penned with a Bongo in mind!

I don't think there's a filter in the scoop system. I can't believe scoops from breaking Bongos are in great demand so you should be able to haggle for a cheap price for a replacement from breakers like Bellhill. Don't forget you'll need the plastic fastener studs that are used to hold the scoop in place using holes in the front valance where the bonnet front sits. 8)

The best "scrivets". for the scoop are Citroen/Peugeot ones that they use for the plastic wing liners....as they are slightly "tighter fitting and keep the intake "solid" but are push in centres,I am now waiting arrival of a supply of the same type Mazda use (screw in centre) but for Citroen....so the best of both worlds for those who are concerned about authenticity.

Mine is also scrivet-less. A couple of zip ties do a perfectly reasonable job, I just carry a few spares in case I need to snip them off.

some do have a mesh across the opening to keep the bugs out but most are just open.

Glad to here nothing major missing but i will try to sorce one asap. If anyone has heard of a company called Wurth who make all sorts of stuff, they make fasteners to match all manufacturers and they are cheaper. If there is a certain type that everyone wants it may be possible to get a box which would work oiut much cheaper than buying OE clips.
