Hi Demon
Interesting photos...and a much better made filter...the usual filter I try to find is a Mann filter, but I may just go to the Mazda dealer and buy direct
cheers

Does this mean that the Blueprint part Number ADC42105 Oil Filter, listed on the compatible parts sheet should be avoided?

Hi
Regarding Blueprint, they are a good firm, normally...have a look at Demon''s pictures, and compare when you buy. I shall be sticking to Mazda originals from now on, or Mann Filters...that is if Mann filters are the same as Man with one "N" as Man is the official producer of Rudolf Diesel's original engine....or so the legend goes 8) 8)
Cheers

Just compairing a brand new £8 blueprint filter to the pictures and it looks very similar. I've got one on the bongo at the moment and had no problems so far. Planning an oil change next week.

We have never had any reported problems with Blueprint filters. But Comline CMB11321, well, that's another story.......... 8)

Its hardly slander, its your personal opinion on a product you bought, no harm in naming it as far as I can see

Have just replaced our offending Cooper filter that was the cause of our mysterious oil leak and replaced it with the above numbered oil filter which was recommended to us by a Spares shop in Herne Bay. Should we be worried then? Any reports on this filter please.

Hi
The filter in question is an SCT 803...They are labelled German, but are made in Turkey, company details
Employees 101- 500
R & D 29
Turkish made is not usually very good. Most often sold in Eastern Europe, however, the stated market is Western Europe...So take care of what is coming....I can only say that they are poorly made, with apparently a very small thickness of filter medium, and a huge void in the middle.
It may be worth mentioning that even with a well-known part, or major appliance, even made in Europe, if during quality control a batch contains a faulty item, the whole run is binned, and sold on. This is bought and sometimes re-labelled with a different serial number, but still sold as a makers original part, but carrying no makers guarantee. If the carton has languages for Eastern Europe, it could well be such a reject, so if you wish to take a chance, do so, as only a couple of items in a batch may be failures.
It is also worth noting that cars from Eastern Europe...for example Opel, have cheaper Chinese components in the electrical and service equipment , rather than Bosch original.
So, with the "Single Europe", beware of what you buy....we're on our 3rd microwave in 18 months....this time a microwave with a British serial marking    [-o< [-o< [-o<
Cheers

I was just about to buy a filter too!

I can't find a supplier on line who sells geniune Mazda filters for the bongo. Mazda dealers don't list the bongo, and bongo dealers all seem to sell pattern ones. Anyone know of an on line supplier?
