Hi
The filter in question is an SCT 803...They are labelled German, but are made in Turkey, company details

Turkish made is not usually very good. Most often sold in Eastern Europe, however, the stated market is Western Europe...So take care of what is coming....I can only say that they are poorly made, with apparently a very small thickness of filter medium, and a huge void in the middle.
It may be worth mentioning that even with a well-known part, or major appliance, even made in Europe, if during quality control a batch contains a faulty item, the whole run is binned, and sold on. This is bought and sometimes re-labelled with a different serial number, but still sold as a makers original part, but carrying no makers guarantee. If the carton has languages for Eastern Europe, it could well be such a reject, so if you wish to take a chance, do so, as only a couple of items in a batch may be failures.
It is also worth noting that cars from Eastern Europe...for example Opel, have cheaper Chinese components in the electrical and service equipment , rather than Bosch original.
So, with the "Single Europe", beware of what you buy....we're on our 3rd microwave in 18 months....this time a microwave with a British serial marking
Cheers
Helen
In the beginning there was nothing , then God said "Let there be Light".....There was still nothing , but ,by crikey, you could see it better.
