Anyhow, if you spot a T reg silver over grey AFT at Chelston, do come and say hello :)
I think I may have seen you there. Were you parked in the main car park around 2pm (ish)? We were parked over the road (had been in the morning and then came back again to pick up an awning we decided we wanted).

We picked up a couple of things. A little oil heater, a kiddy fold up canvas chair and rechargeable LED torch thingy but the main things was an awning (Movelite XL). Although the same price as everywhere else it was the 2010 model where some places are still selling 2009 models for the same price. Nice people though and offered some advice.

We didn't camp but popped in for a few hours. It was enjoyable but obviously was only a single supplier and so couldn't be compared to a big show. Did enjoy looking around the campervans though.....some very lovely (albeit at £80,000 you would expect it to be).

No bargains for the Bongo :( ....... but, with 50% price reductions in the clothing & footwear section, I got a pair of HiTech V-Lite walking boots for £45, a Gelert light-weight waterproof jacket for £18 and a pair of waterproof over-trousers for £7.50 ........ total saving £70.50; so I'm a happy bunny :D

Saw two other Bongos there this afternoon, but nobody with them ...... some nice hot-rods & classic cars there, though.

The big motorhomes were interesting to look around, but looking at the half dozen or so VW & Talbot campervan 'trade-ins' that they had (rather tired and sad looking), that were more comparable to a Bongo on size and price, made me doubly glad I decided to buy a Bongo :D

Just unpacking after a great weekend! I arrived on Friday lunchtime to meet up with Bob and Lyn (Freewheeler) and Geoff and Carol (Bin Bongoed) at Taunton Racecourse (FREE camping and showers). After a quick cuppa we set off on the FREE bus to the camping show in Wellington. (FREE entrance). Had a look around the shop, 50% off all clothing, some items in the accessories shop 2 for the price of one. We picked up our FREE motorhome care kit, (just for being there). Queued up for our FREE hot dog and cup of tea. Same again on the Saturday, we had a look around at the motorhomes. (All beautiful, but I wouldn't want to have to drive one.) Another FREE hot dog and cuppa. If I keep going on about everything being free it's because I couldn't quite believe it. Of course I realize they wanted us to spend, spend, spend. (The motorhomes were selling like hot cakes.) Back to the Racecourse, there were now 200 motorhomes camped up. As usual the Bongoes aroused a good bit of interest! In the evening we set off to the clubhouse for the entertainment (great Devon group called "White Noise") and a hot pork bap. Sorry, I am going to have to bore you and say that word again. ALL FREE.
But the best thing of all?? To meet up with Bob and Lyn and Geoff and Carol again and have a laugh! Thanks for the Baileys, Lyn!!
Under ground, over ground, bongoing free!

What a brilliant weekend!! Thanks Geoff and Carol (Bin Bongoed) for bringing it to our attention. =D>
Well done to Chelston Motorhomes for their hospitality - the staff were great, couldn't fault anything.
As Jo(Violetbongojo) has mentioned Team Chelston provided most things for free such as the Autoglyn car care kit which people who booked to camp received, they kept us well fed and watered :) even an endless supply of sweets. Lovely disco and band in the evening at the racecourse, must not forget the hog roast. Got some bargains for the Bongo also Gelert half price clothing, the list goes on!!!!! Well impressed. =D> =D>

Unfortunately we'd left before I noticed your post. We did see one as described, but not the driver. Sorry we missed you. There was also another Bongo, can't off-hand recall the colour. There were 3 Bongos staying overnight, but of course we were parked on the racecourse, and a good time was had by all. Good to be back in the saddle, as they say.

I think Chelston have found a good business model. As you will have noticed, their place was teaming with people, and a lot of goodwill was generated by their generosity, which obviously paid at the till. Long queues waiting to pay in the accessories section, and they seemed to be selling a great many vans.

Yes, that would've been me ......... as a newbie, I'm still looking forward to meeting some fellow Bongoliers - oh, well, if not before, I guess I'll be sure to meet some at the Southern Softies meet :)
