Lost remote central locking fob!

Post by hembramacho » Fri Aug 28, 2009 10:53 am

Basically I've lost the fob to use the remote central locking - it must have dropped off somewhere! Have retraced my steps a million times but can't find it at all. I can still use the central locking by using the key in the drivers door, but once you get used to pressing a button you kind of get lazy!
Anyone got any ideas whether it is possible to get a replacement?

8) Andrew, if you take your Bongo along to a main mazda dealer,
they should be able to get all the information they need to get you a replacement central locking fob.
Do expect to pay around £140 though, I think that was what it cost me once for a ford transit
cheers! party on dudes.

Thanks for that, though at £140  I feel I'm not that lazy!

Have rung a Mazda dealer who told me as it's an import he probably wouldn't be able to get the info for the part I would need. He also said that as it has no alarm it might be an aftermarket job, although I don't see this myself. He suggested trying a car alarm specialist who might be able to tap into the system to get the necessary information.
Change of tact, but if I need to do that, could I use the current central locking system to encorporate an alarm system also, as this is something I have been thinking of doing anyway with the amount of bongo thefts that seem to be going on!

Hallelujah! I've found it - well, know where it is.

I dropped a few tools back at my mates last night, and I just phoned him for advice on this problem as he is a mechanic and works for a parts firm, and he told me it was on his kitchen woktop - and he had forgotton to phone me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #-o
I don't know whether to kiss him  or kill him!!

It must have come of my fob when I left the tools behind.

Ah well, short thread that!

Regards your question about linking an alarm into your existing remote system the answer is yes. Its a good idea as the Mazda factory remote is not very reliable and you should be able to get an alarm fitted which will give you two brand new remotes as well as the additional security for around a couple of hundred quid.

I know a bloke in north wales who could do it if you want!

Thanks for the reply. I'm still thinking of doing the alarm thing at some point so if you could point me in the direction of someone local who could do it that would be great.

Delighted that you have found it, Hembramacho.

As I had already dug this out before you found it, I thought I'd post it anyway in case it's ever of interest to anyone else.

I assume this is the key fob in question (top left)?

Image

and I imagine that the number below it is the part number (G06T V7 601). If not, the numbers S09A V7 600 and S09A V7 600R also appear on the document at what I imagine may be the front cover.

Hope this helps someone sometime

My fob's like that, and I managed to get a spare one from ebay. Never managed to program it though :(

Probably just as easy & cheap to fit a new aftermarket system, this thread may be of interest - http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... =3&t=34158

Thanks for that Alison. Would have acknowledged sooner but only arrived back from a trip in the Bongo!
