AFT noisy operating. Is it OK to lubricate? If anyone has any info would be grateful.
Re: AFT
Thinly spread some Vaseline (all I had to hand, on a campsite - carry it, to keep rear window catches easy for Mrs M to work) on the runners on ours, and that did the trick but whether it has any adverse side effects, can't say. Was once told on here that using Vaseline to make the side door open/close smoother, would cause collection of grit, sand, etc. - it hasn't.wyefish wrote:AFT noisy operating. Is it OK to lubricate? Thanks for that! Sounds worth a try. I was wondering if WD40 might be an idea?
Re: AFT
Am sure WD-40 would do the trick short term but the effect of Vaseline, or any grease for that matter, will last longer.wyefish wrote:Thanks for that! Sounds worth a try. I was wondering if WD40 might be an idea?

Re: AFT
White Lithium greese (Halfords) is less likely to mark the AFT material....works well.....clean all the runners first with White sprite

Screwfix are doing a PTFE spray lube. We used to use one of these (from RS I think) when I worked as an engineer to keep robot end tooling running smoothly where we couldn't risk grease as we were assembling camera shutters.wyefish wrote:AFT noisy operating.
