Help My Roof Wont Rise!

Post by Vicky007 » Sun Aug 09, 2009 8:53 pm

Been camping this weekend and went to raise my auto freetop roof the dashboard light for the roof comes on and goes off like normal but when u press the botton to raise the roof nothing, no sound or movement, could it be a fuse that has blown somewhere? and if so where am i likely to find the fuse any help gratefully received.

Fuse is no 12, 4th from left on the second row, should be a green 30 amp fuse, if you look in the fusebox factsheet in the members area it shows it.
If you lift the plastic console, there's a switch at at the back of the handbrake, quite often this gets damp, oxidises & doesn't work, give the switch a good scrape on the faces that make contact, chances are that'll solve it. Give me a shout if not Vicky  .
Beat me to it Geoff

I thougth it had to be in 'park' with the handbrake on for the roof to raise.

Shouldn't matter what gear it's in as long as the handbrake is on, mine goes up in any gear.

Seems to sort most of them  Same thing happened to Hotpot when she turned up at the Bash, luckily she was pitching behind me, so it was instantly sorted, just as well as it was nearly 1 am
