Undid the drain plug, missed the container, covered in oil. All up my arm and over the drive, I was amazed

Motto, don't forget the pela pump on the shelf in the garage.

Yup - did that, and still missed the pan. Come on Haydn, you're a bloke - you know how it ishaydn callow wrote:Or...work out which way the oil will "spurt" and put the container in the right place.

Next time Alice, get a Pela (as the old Mazda advert used to say). I did, and now my sump plug is rusted on
But seriously, get a Pela and do it yourself. It is the easiest peeziest job you could imagine and as well as eliminating 'missed the pan' episodes (and I don't care what anyone says, sump plug removal is liable to result in some oil on the drive for most of us average types) you no longer have the (OK maybe minor) cost of a garage but you don't have the hassle of taking time off and taking it in, leaving it, picking it up etc.spitineye wrote:....that's why my garage will be doing my next change.![]()
