He knows what he's talking about - he did it in 1962 LWB landrover

This is true, in 1989 I used 73 gallons of juice, that's got to be about £350.00 at today's rates

Quickest route is M5, M6 A55 but is 210 miles this way is 162 miles and looks a lot more scenic.

thats proberly the best way on a friday, the m5 & m6 can be like car parks and its a nice route as well. lots of nice little stops along the way if you have the time

Debs, just spoke to my mum and she got it direct from the big rednose day shop there was a link on the bbc site it was £2 + p&p

I came back from the Welsh Bash last October this way. Beautiful scenic route, but a lot of hills and bends. You get to see a lot of Wales this way.

Some of the small roads round Betwys Garmon are narrow and steep. The Nantgwynant pss between Betwys-y-Coed and Bedgellert and the Aberglastyn pass Bedgelert to Portmadoc are best avoided if you have a trailer. I got the Bongo through both and I am sure a lot of others did, but both are narrow and steep. Beware the Welsh bus as well.

Probably best to take the A487 to Caernarfon from Porthmadoc. Longer but less vertigo

I am looking forward to it now, we did Hard Knot Pass last year in the Bongo both ways so bring it on
