a while ago my central locking died. ie basically each door needed opened with the key.
as i would need to take the driver's door panel etc off to look at this - i got one of the kits to install the remote key fob's and hooked that in.
the key fob has stopped working (checked spare as well). however if i open the drivers door the central locking works - but only on opening. it doesnt lock them
is this more than likely to be the controller box from the remote fob ?

Re: central locking
Hi Karen, do you have a leisure battery fitted in the bongo, if so, does your interior lights work from the leisure battery?

Re: central locking
havent checked the leisure battery lately
admittedly i did have to swap the main battery last month
i wouldnt expect looking to be related to that but i will check the status of leisure battery

Karen,
I would check the wires that come from the drivers door into the car.

Re: central locking
I may be way off mark karen, but i had a flat leisure battery last year (without realizing) I was more pre occupied with the lack of central locking.... It turned out that the central locking is one the same circuit as the interior lights, and my interior lights had been "patched" to the leisure battery, which was flat, so the central locking didn't work.karen wrote:havent checked the leisure battery lately

A fully re-charged LB cured the problem in my case.

Re: central locking
Good call Ste, I had the same last year when my LB was iffy.
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.
Re: central locking
My CL just packed up, went intermitent for a couple of weeks, typicaly unlocking, then refusing to re-lock.
No LB fitted, and it's too cold to be outside messing with it. If I get a chance I'll be starting at the loom to the driver's door, otherwise it's in for service on Friday so I may just ask the garage to sort it.
At least it's packed up properly, intermitent faults are a right pig.
