Hoses and metal coolant pipe

Post by lizard » Fri Nov 28, 2008 1:06 am

Hello Bongo peeps.

Having replaced the six hoses that flippa sells top/bottom, rad. Top/bottom, engine. Hose over starter. Expansion/header tank to rad. I have also had the bleed hose replaced (thanks Haydn), I now have to replace the metal coolant pipe o/s. That's seven out the way.

Now the questions are peeps, whilst it is all apart:

Do I change any other hoses?
They all look ok [-o< at the moment (I hope that I have found then all), or do I leave well alone?
Which hose (this is a tuff one) do you think may go next?

This will be the 4th bleed/coolant change this year and I would like to try to knock it on the head this time as every time some thing is replaced a leak springs up elsewhere.

Thanks chums

I'd go with replacing what you can, Flippa does 14 hoses (I think) altogether now, have you got a coolant & Mason or extra temperature alarm? Not the be all & end all, but certainly damn good insurance.

Sounds like you are about done to me. I belive there are in fact 13 Flippa hoses and 15 hoses all together. Where do you stop?? and a few metal bits. !!

Cheers peeps

Yes I have Hadyn and Mason.

I will replace the metal pipe and see how things go. It will be good practice bleeding the coolant. Thanks again for the help Haydn, will follow instructions to the letter.

Thanks :) :) :) :) :)
