DEXRON 2 or 3 - confused!

Post by Trouble at t'Mill » Sat Nov 08, 2008 11:36 pm

References on this forum to the oil required for the autobox state it should be DEXRON 3.

Alans': http://www.allansvehicleservices.co.uk/32132.html claim it's DEXRON 2...

What's the difference, and which is the correct garde to use, please?!

Thanks.

Thanks. :) It's been amended to clarify the answer. Both will do the job. If possible, use Dexron 111 which has a higher boiling point etc, but some people have had trouble finding it. Dexron 11 has been easier to find and members have used it without reporting problems.
