Post by Peg leg Pete » Thu Aug 21, 2008 8:54 pm

Our Bongo clocked up 89999 miles and now refuses to move any further, tripometer has ceased to move also, Speedometer is working fine, any suggestions please as to how to rectify the problem :)

Have you tried resetting the trip?
have you tried taking it out and knocking the dials on a notch?

Mine was a bit sticky after I took out the speedo to conect the cruise, I'm with Rob that taking it out and gently jiggling it could free the dials.
Take a torch, toilet roll, and tea bags.

Mine stuck as it turned 99999 miles. Resetting the trip didn't work, but a good hard tap on the plastic screen while driving did the trick. Otherwise I would try removing the dash & manually turning it with a small screwdriver.

Just give the last wheel a prod with a match stick.(the blunt end)

Let us know if you get this one sorted. My trip meter sticks but so far the totals are ok. My trip gets stuck under a mile or goes ok so I always know if its working or not.

Well never did get chance to remove speedo to sort out the stuck guage  Set off at 3.30 a.m. yesterday to take Matthew to work, drove over curb to avoid reversing up the street, as we were travelling along noticed that the tripometer and odemeter had decided to start working again
