I reckon something that has lasted 10+ years & been thru several million revolutions isn't bad going. I've know 3 people who've has to have turbos replaced on VW Golfs that are under 2 years old, my last Audi A4 had to have a brand new gear box after 17,000 miles & my current Honda has had 3 recalls due to fix manufacture / design faults.
