Removal of hatch hinges!

Having used the top to sleep in on my last holiday I found the closure of the hatch a real bind when two full sized adults were up top.

Today I drilled out/ off the pop rivets that hold the hatch so now it can be slid into place rather than used in the conventional way

MUCH BETTER, MUCH MUCH BETTER.

I can say its a neat trick to close and much more convienient now

I may not be the first to think of it but anybody else with the same problem

Almost the first thing I did to my Bongo - the lift up flap is a real pain.

Removing the hinge pins is very easy and they can be replaced if needed.

Too much sticky outiness going on for me just taking the pins out (I'm a clumsy mare, if there's a possibility of catching myself on something I will) , couldn't see a need to put them back with any urgency, so took the tidier option, but like you say Haydn, much easier to take the pins out

With the hinges removed there nothing sharp to catch yourself or the expensive mattress on
I've got a pop rivit tool so if I ever want to put them back on I can
