Hi all,
Driving bongo today, parked up, and got a little whiff of what I think is coolant smell out of the blowers. Have now noticed it each time I've been out for a run since (twice). (runs 100 miles; 10 miles; 10 miles)
No noticable loss of coolant from the header tank when the machine has had a chance to cool down, so I don't think fluid is jetting out anywhere, but in light of the numerous "coolant loss" tales of woe here on the forum, I'm (understandably?) a little concerned.
Any suggestions as to what the problem might be (heater matrix with a pin hole? something similar?) and tests to perform to investigate?
many thanks!
Gavin.

I get that smell in very damp conditions
No loss of coolant, think it is time to spray the Dettox into the heater fan again

Heh, funny you should say that! Have had a closer look
From the staining under the bonnet, I think el-Bongo has had a bit of an overheat at some point in it's history, and there's still a bit of a whiffy coolant smell under there (I suspect some coolant smelling gas also escapes the header-tank now n again). Have given it a bit of a clean out under there, and squirted a little bit of neutradol into the heater-air-intake thingy under the bonnet. See if that sorts it out!
