Great weekend at Westward-ho!!!

It was good to meet Perry and Stuart from bongoland and now fellow kitesurfers, lots of bongos on the beach, that goes to prove that this is a great van for us kiters. Unfortunately the wind didn't play that well but I've had a great session on saturday kitesurfing those waves like there was no tomorrow and will go back there for more soon.

Unfortunately Stuart didn't try the Kaiman but I will contact you soon to arrange a demo in your area...how does that sound Perry?

Sounds most excellent Gatecrasher. Keep in touch we will let you know where were heading. Might try to get down to you neck of the woods sometime soon. But only if you can tell me there will be no waves [-X

Due to the lack of wind on Sunday we left earlyish. I think on Saturday he was a bit broken from his sesh

Greetings :-)
I've just been made aware of this thread.... I knew they'd be some others out there too!

My main reason for the Bongo purchase other than transporting small ankle bitters was to transport my Flexifoil buggy, Kites and other toys to various sandy locations.
Certainly the right tool for the job! I really don't miss having to break the buggy down to fit in the boot or muck around with bike racks!

Any big fields for buggying at the Bongo bash then??

Hope to see you around soon

Ahhh I meant I'm glad I don't need a bike rack anymore as I can just chuck the buggy (and kids if enough room!) in the back of the Bongo rather than fighting with my old bike rack on the car (never the easiest thing to do after a good buggy session!)

Anyhow that rack looks like the business...I assume it's a good fit for the Bongo then?

Ooops, haven't been on here fa aaaages.. sorry guys!

Ya, been out making the most of the easterlies despite needing to get this flippin' dissertation finished ASAP.

Anyone else going on Follow The Wind this year??

It's the Scottish kite tour where a random gang of loons meet up and, as it says on the tin, follow the wind for a week til the tour ends at the BKSA event at Balmedie.. probs going on to Tiree fa 5 days after that lot too!

There's a Facebook page and it's on kiteboarder.co.uk under Events.

Already 25 people signed up, many of those (like myself) taking other people. Very family-friendly vibe, lots of amazing places to see.. last year was simply superb, although we only got wind on 3 of the 6 days, we made the most of it by going wakeboarding one day, and doing a big drive through the mountains another.. some very good kiters coming this year, it's more a social than anything, and chance to visit parts of Scotland you otherwise wouldn't.. more of a kitesurfer thing than landy-types, although some of the places visited are fine for land.

All BKSA kit with us, so full outdoor sound system is set up in any place we stop, fires, beer, rum, all kinds of kit to play with, meet loads of new kite mates!

Already 2 Bongos on the tour.. will you be next to sign up?!

Go bigger,

Dee

We've got a Bullet Kite - I bought it for my husbands 40th and we used it once. 3.5 metre (I sold his Kite board I bought him on Ebay as he can't hold it up with his knees - old git  )

We used it on Hoylake Beach in high wind and it dragged me across the floor pulling my trousers down - leaving hubby and his friend laughing manically.

Sad thing is, my Father in Law was watching intently as my bare butt was revealed

Since then, kids have taken priority and we haven't used it but we do take it with us when we go off on our travels. I am scared of it to be honest, it didn't half drag me and I believe you can stop yourself from being dragged if you pull it a certain way - something clever hubby and his friend knew about but didn't see fit to mention to me

Hi all, good to see its not just me thats enjoying the bongo!! Living in the north of scotland after moving up from just outside newquay, plenty of beaches up here to fly the blades on! and lots of hills to jump off with paraglider too! The van is absolutley perfect for us to carry all the kit in and then spend the night in some spectacular scenery on the west coast away from the madding crowds. Keep it up guys, we know its great but dont let everyone know, they'll all want one too!!!!

This is a great thread, Ive had my Tin top for 14 months now and have owned a 3.5 bullet and a 3.6 Beamer for 4 months. My local beach is Whitsands but don't fly there i normally fly on the moors or at a local set of footy pitches. I have a board but my bruv uses it. I'm after a Buggy but they are like bongos, someone will pay the earth for them

Any Buggies for sale??????? [-o< [-o< [-o<

My mates friend may be retiring from kite buggying soon and will be selling all his kit so I'll let you know if it comes up for grabs. I had my first buggy lesson over at Hoylake the other week ( he's a member of the land yacht and kite buggying club there). My new neighbour has been flying kites and buggying for a few years and took me down for the experience.

I'm still nursing the bruises after getting snatched up in a gust and getting dumped again  - you live and learn. Gonna stick to the flying before I try the buggy again, I only managed to hurtle backwards in a downwind - fun while it lasted but not so much when my finger got ripped by the lines when I let go. [-X !! I'm sure you've all had similar experiences.

be glad to hear of any meets and we'll come and join the fun.

Cheers

Ian

if you get registered on racekites there are usually some buggies that go up for sale on there. friend of mine just sold his rs speed on there , imaculate condition £200.
also flexiforums sell on there. try to steer clear from radsail bugs, not very good quality.
ultimately it depends on what you want to do. freestyle, cruising or racing.

gives u a good idea whats out there
ive first got a peter lynn
then upgraded to a flexibug and tow the peter lynn around tandem flying.
just had a meeting at bolton le sands good fun, next one is august but check out meets in racekite.com
happy flying
