Anyone got a manual, whats your clutch like oh er!
Does anyone with a manual, find the clutch is poor. I've replaced the clutch plate, thrust bearing, and slave cylinder, and bled the damn thing a dozen times, but the clutch release point is still only about 1inch from fully depressed. I hired a Transit last weekend, and realised just how bad my clutch was in comparison. I'm really trying not to replace the master cylinder but thats all thats left. Is poor clutch performance a Bongo thing?

Is there any kind of pedal position adjustment max? Some automatically adjust using a ratchet & pawl system, others have an adjuster above the clutch pedal itself,or sometimes there is an adjuster actually where the clutch cable joins the actuator bar on the bell housing.
Perhaps the cable has stretched?

So he did john...i hadn't noticed the mention of the slave cylinderfrancophile1947 wrote:Would there be a cable BDC?bigdaddycain wrote:Is there any kind of pedal position adjustment max? Perhaps the cable has stretched?I assume clutch is hydraulic as slave cylinder mentioned.

In that case, a hydraulic clutch is self adjusting, as the friction material wears, the adjustment is taken up also...So much for my original theory then
