New battery
I've just had Bongo's battery replaced - 79.99 fitted. Is this good, average or exorbitant?

while doing up my boat i get to learn far too much to be healthy on loads of things , i have recently learned about batteries.
the answer is that its not that simple to base it on cost. it is what you got for the money you spent as depending on the thickness of the plates and how you use it will lengthen or shorten the life of it.
reason i had to know was i needed 3 batteries at 100 pound each and was told they will need changing every 2 or 3 years and thought like xxxx they will. if you intend getting a lesuire battery for camping etc its well worth spending a rainy day understanding how they work so you can make a good choice. i managed to find batties for 65 pound each with a 4 year guarantee as a result.

I'd say that was a fair enough price, as Londonron suggests, how good a guarantee came with it curlew?curlew wrote:I've just had Bongo's battery replaced - 79.99 fitted. Is this good, average or exorbitant?

i have an empty shell of a narrow boat. its 45ft long and has all the same principles when wiring as a car in regard to 12volt with 240 hook ups and in board water storage etc. i understand very little as its learn what i need for the next task. am doing the electrical system at the moment involving batteies, invertors and chargers as well as all the pump and bits that go with it.
