How to stop wind ?

Post by Lovejoy » Mon Sep 17, 2007 6:12 pm

Is there any way to stop the non fan assisted 'breeze' which blows gently through the air vents with everything on tha aircon controls switched off ?

All my other vehicles have little levers which close the air vents, but the bongo doesn't, so there is a constant breeze from the vents caused by the movement of the vehicle through the air.

OK, I can switch it to aim at my feet or my face, but there seems to be no way of stopping it.

When the temp inside is just fine I don't want drafts blowing round the cab.

Any way to stop air coming in when it's not wanted ?

Can't you just switch to recirculating the interior air?

air con or digital Climate control.
If the latter hit the 'off' button (bottom right)

Digi climate control. Off button pressed and display just showing direction of air flow (face, feet or demist windscreen) but air still comes through.

The off button does not seem to shut off the vents.

Don't know if this is a problem in my system or if it's how all bongos work.

Odd not to have a vent shut off lever on the individual vents though. All me previous vehicles with aircon or climate control have had a vent close lever.

Same problem on a hot day, I like cold air blowing on me when I'm driving but Mrs Lovejoy doesn't so she has to angle her vent to hit the window or in my direction(ish) but still gets the effect as she can't shut off her side vent.

check down by the drivers left foot that all the linkages are connected up. They have a habit of slipping out of their retainer.

I've looked down by my left foot and there is a dog and the castors of my chair, can't see any linkages.

Oh, I see, you mean when I'm actually sitting in the vehicle. Gotcha, i'll have a look in the morning.

Cheers

Thanks - at least now I know mine is behaving 'normally' and it is not something which needs fixing.

I find the constant flow of fresh air to the face keeps me awake, which is a shame when the seat is so comfy and I don't have to wake up to change gears or anything.

I'll just have to up the meds to counteract the waking effect of the breeze.
