Re: Ongoing V6 gearbox issue
The TCC isn't top gear, you have 4 gears + torque converter lockup. I would think the transmission is OK & the issue is on the vehicle, however I have no experience with the vehicle systems that control the transmission unfortunately.

Roof issue
I have exactly the issue raised in a previous post. The roof was last raised around Xmas 21 as it lives inside the workshop over the xmas break so I raise it to air it. Bear in mind the Bongo has been 'resting' since August '19, but it came up & down OK. Earlier this month I had a major mission ...

Re: Horn relay location
Many thanks Geoff, turned out to be, shall we say, 'aftermarket' wiring done before I owned it that was at fault.

Horn relay location
Can anyone show me a picture of the horn relay location? My poor old Bongo has been sat idle since August '19 & now, amongst many other things, the horn doesn't work. I know it is under the bonnet, but which one is it? I have tried searching this forum but despite being mentioned a lot I haven't...

Re: ABS light on
Sorry chaps, bum steer there, I went & read it myself & got code 11 - right front wheel sensor. So a few tests tomorrow - hopefully just a sensor which is simple to sort out.
It has been driven for 10 miles but the light is on as soon as you start so it has to be electrical somewhere.

ABS light on
My Bongo has been stood for most of this year with moving or being started as all. I need to use it this weekend but for various reasons I was only able to start it yesterday & the ABS light is permanently on from the moment it is switched before it is moved. There appears no issues with the wir...

Re: Transmission judder
Assuming your oil level is correct, you may have damaged your forward clutch by driving it slipping. It only takes a few yards to total a slipping auto clutch. I take it the judder isn't a LSD judder from the rear axle when cornering?

Re: Recommend rear diff oil from eurocarparts
Firstly Euro Car Parts own brand oild oils (Triple QX) are crap. Buy as good a quality oil as you can afford i.e. a good named brand. Does yours have a limited slip differential (LSD) the oil is different & shouldn't be interchanged. The chart posted in your 1st reply has all the information you...

Re: Best ATF
From the horses mouth http://www.autogearboxes.co.uk/docs/lifegard.pdf . 'Filled/Sealed for life' is a CAR manufacturer selling point as it reduces service costs. ZF, as linked to above, make transmissions for many of todays cars &, as can be seen, advocate oil changes. BMW & Jaguar - who us...

Re: ATF leak
If the oil is coming out fast then definitely don't drive it or you could turn a simple oil leak into a major transmission failure.

Re: Gearbox lack of power drove with hold light on
Needs diagnosing. Does the engine stop or will it just not pull you uphill because it is in default & driving in 3rd gear all the time?
